Hilltop has embarked and co-ordinated the training of more than 1000 neighbourhoods in overcrowded townships of Cape Town – Mitchell’s plain, Khayelitsha, Gugulethu and Phillippi where almost 100% of people use or have access to cell phone technology. Cellphones represent opportunities for a much wider usage including online learning for lockdown children due to poor COVID educational management. Cellphones are also the target for many abuses, fraud and other horrors. Hilltop with its partners are hence piloting this special training porgramme in positive optimal use of cellphones. Many of Hilltop’s volunteers have been trained as facilitators for this project which has now started its implementation
