Hilltop has an IT technical centre which acts as the brain of Hilltop‘s IT operations and also offers a six months training course to adult youth who are from local villages and townships.

The department refurbishes computers and develop and promotes software, IT solutions and e-learning.

In addition, trainers that are sent out to schools in rural environments are trained here in hardware and software including Microsoft and Open Source which is in a development mode.

Since 2001 Hilltop has established over 100 computer centres in three provinces: the Eastern Cape, Free State and the Northern Cape. These are mainly located in rural communities and townships.

Through the skills training Hilltop has created small and large business off-shoots like Awona Technologies in King Williams Town, a womans empowerment business to whom 35 centres were transferred. IT Support in East London an IT Technical Business and several others.
